These two extraaxial masses are suggestive of
meningioma. However, there are several features that, while individually
non-specific, taken in concert suggest an HPC. The mass on the left (sagittal
T1W enhanced MR and gross operative photo) appears extra- or epi-dural (there is
a dark line on the INSIDE of the mass, at its interface with the brain). The
mass is bossellated, growing in distinct lobules. The lesion on the right,
illustrated on enhanced T1W MR in both the coronal and sagittal planes, is a
lobulated transdural mass. The extremely rich neovascularity creates serpentine
"flow-voids" on the MR scans.
